I am the guide of souls and of men

To this sacred fire

The joy and pain that I have seen-

And my blood nourishes the spirit
As food nourishes the body
I have seen moonrise on giant Jupiter
And danced through the rings of Saturn
I have crossed the great void
Watched meteor showers beyond the pole star.
I have witnessed the birth and death
Of every living creature
I hear the gentle scraping of the chick
Within the egg, the thunder of many waters
The Earth's screams of pain as
Earthquakes tear its mantle
And the silence atop
Remote snow covered mountains
I am the Firebird
And to those that can hear I bring wisdom.'
