Here is the Report to Ocarinaclub:
Dear Ocarinaists,
Kiln Shelves get old, the stress, up and down, in and out, expand and contract over the years you might use them. We have some shelves that have seen untold firings for years. Last night, we saw the results first hand of this phenomena. The bottom shelf in a large stack broke away and the whole load of Ocarinas crashed on itself. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!! See the pictures at http://www.clayz.com/studio.html
Actually, we could have lost alot more, a full shelf of the pendants survived, and the Limited II's in the last photo were cleaned up, fuse marks where they fired glaze to shelf and each other, and re-glazed. Worked out ok, except the one blew it's mouthpiece off.
Our very best,
Richard
The
Durian.... We have had quite a discussion over at Ocarinaclub
(read the Archives) about the Durian Fruit. A very odiferous
and wonderful creation. Read the Smithsonian
Magazine archives for a great article about Durians.
